Did you know four out of 10 visitors to your company’s website will leave if it takes more than three seconds to load?

Don’t underestimate the importance of achieving maximal loading speed for your web pages. How do you feel when you go to a site — only to sit there waiting for what seems like forever for the page to load?

You might go to another site instead. But fast loading speeds can also impact your search engine optimization. When ranking websites in its search engine page results, Google factors site speed into the equation. So, page load time matters.

Unfortunately, that’s one of many website errors your business might be making. Continue reading to see three other mistakes — and what you need to do now to turn things around.

Not Writing for Humans

Do you know what the Google algorithm and humans have in common? Neither likes web content that reads like it was written by robots for robots. When producing content for your website, you need to know how to write for Google and humans. But what does writing for humans mean? It means your writing must serve the intended purpose of providing your target demographic with the information sought after. Doing this will translate into higher rankings on search engine results pages, driving more traffic to your website and increasing sales.

Consider these two recommendations on how to write better content for humans and Google:

Avoid Keyword Stuffing: One reason it pays to hire an agency specializing in SEO strategies is that you can avoid keyword stuffing. It’s what happens when keywords are inserted into copy without regard for readability. You should insert keywords naturally rather than force them into your copy. Otherwise, they’ll stand out for all the wrong reasons. It’s important to note that keyword stuffing won’t really boost your ranking on search engine results. The ever-evolving Google algorithm doesn’t just focus on keywords. It also assesses the entire article to help determine search engine result page listings. So, stuffing your articles or blog posts with keywords isn’t likely to have much of an impact on your overall ranking.

Use Simple Sentences: Human readers tend to detest long sentences — especially when simpler ones suffice. Google prefers shorter, easy-to-follow sentences too. Your web content needs to be scannable to appeal to humans and Google. According to one source, the average American has the readability level of someone in the seventh or eighth grade. Remember that when producing content for your website. You can use a free online tool like Hemmingway App to write for an audience at a specific grade level.

Not Utilizing Analytics

Even if you hire a web design firm to develop your website, add compelling content, and optimize your website for SEO, you must pay attention to the importance of analytics. You need to know things like the following:

  • How your website is doing
  • Which pages are popular
  • How long visitors stay on specific pages
  • How many visitors buy your products and services
  • How many visitors bail in the middle of a purchasing transaction

It’s essential to have a comprehensive understanding of how people interact with your website.

There are tools that’ll help you get this information. But working with a website development consultancy can help you interpret the data to use it to your advantage. When you understand the overall effectiveness of your website, you can make changes to boost sales.

“Conversion rate optimization is a delicate dance; one misstep can tarnish the user experience, stifle growth, and erode trust,” says Alexander Svensson, VP of growth and strategy, SiteTuners. “Tread carefully and mindfully, for every decision echoes throughout your audience’s journey.”

Not Considering Mobile Devices

Is your website optimized for use on mobile devices? If not, that’s a big mistake. Consider that 55% of website traffic originates from mobile devices and that around nine out of 10 — 92.3% — internet users go online using a mobile phone. So, you need to ensure that people accessing your website from their smartphones, tablets, or other mobile devices can interact with it just as easily as if they accessed your website from their computers or laptops.

Have you checked to ensure your website displays well on mobile screens and is easy to use? Don’t make the error of optimizing your website solely for use on computers and laptops. Doing so will alienate people using their mobile devices to see what you offer online. Strive for accessibility for visitors regardless of their device or browser.

Ensure you write for humans, tap into the analytics, and focus on being mobile-friendly. You want your website to be an effective means of attracting visitors and converting them into customers. So, you’ll want to avoid making mistakes that lower the odds of consumers going to your website, sticking around, navigating the various pages, and buying your products and services.

Optimize These Homepage Design Elements To Boost Conversions This 2023

If people won’t just a book by its cover, they’re sure to judge a website. Products, services, or content might be great, but poorly designed homepages can be detrimental to conversions.

Remember, your home page is likely the first thing new users are going to see. You need to make a great first impression that not only lasts but helps you turn site visitors into customers.

To ensure this, we need to optimize our homepage’s design elements. Doing so provides us with several benefits.

Why Homepage Design Optimization Is Important

Design elements on your homepage are more than a visual stimulant. Colors evoke emotion, lines can guide a site visitor’s attention, and well-structured content can help navigation.

There are a ton of advantages to optimizing the design elements of your homepage. Done right, your homepage can bring your business the following:

  • It helps you make a great first impression.
  • It supports search engine optimization (SEO) efforts.
  • Optimized homepage design can make navigation easier.
  • Your design elements build your brand image.
  • You can gain more conversions with an optimized home page.

Optimizing Homepage Design For Maximum Conversions

We can take different approaches to homepage optimization. There are cases when we’d want to focus on purely design aspects and cases where we need to be a bit more technical.

But if you’re a complete beginner, don’t worry! The following optimizations can be done by anybody!

  • Use the Right Color Pallets

Colors have to be intentional. It needs to match your brand, a theme, or a specific aesthetic. As mentioned earlier, colors can invoke emotions.

For example, a laid-back and minimalist aesthetic site leaning more on neutral colors can use colors that pop out for calls-to-action. This can help guide the user’s eye because it stands out.

According to a study using the colors red and orange for CTAs have 21% better conversion rates than green-colored CTAs. If you want to learn more, look into color theory.

  • Utilize White Space

Our immediate thought for designing a homepage might be to use every space possible. But, doing this can easily disorient visitors, especially if you’re cramming in a ton of content.

The solution to this is simple—white spaces. Nobody likes walls of text. But if it’s necessary, white space can break it up into digestible bits. It can also be used as a design element as well.

  • Use Responsive Design

Responsive design is definitely treading into the realm of technical SEO. However, with site builders being more user-friendly, creating responsive designs for every device is made simple!

Having a responsive design means your homepage’s design becomes dynamic. This type of design allows it to change depending on the device a visitor is viewing your website on.

  • Navigation

In the digital space, everybody is looking for convenience. What’s more convenient than being able to go where you need to with just a few clicks from the homepage?

A homepage with great navigation can directly result in conversations. This can go beyond cramming links in your nav menu. Try using widgets with relevant links or even a FAQ section.

  • Feature Social Proof

Social proof like reviews and testimonials helps build trust and authority. Featuring it on your homepage may just be the nudge visitors need to fill up a form, buy products, or ask for a quote.

Studies suggest that using social proof on key pages can improve conversions by 34%. It’s a cost-effective, sustainable, and powerful marketing strategy!

  • Put a Face to the Name

Whether you’re rolling solo or working with a team, putting a face to your brand can do wonders. According to a study, adding human faces to a website can improve conversions by up to 48%.

It’s easier to connect with something when it has a human element. Plus, it’s a great way to showcase the talented people behind your business.

  • Highlight an Engaging CTA

All the design optimizations wouldn’t do much without engaging CTAs. From the homepage itself, you can already get conversions with a CTA that stands out from other elements.

An easy tip is to use colors that contrast the pallet of the elements. Also, consider designing your CTAs as buttons. A Copyblogger study revealed CTA buttons had a 45% boost in clicks.

Key Takeaways

Homepage design can make or break your brand’s website. The key here isn’t to fill up every space with flashy designs and colors. Instead, we should focus on improving user experience.

The good news is, we don’t need to be experts in SEO or back-end web development. We can do this by considering the following best practices:

  • Using eye-catching color schemes or pallets.
  • Utilizing white space to break content and add a design element.
  • Make your website responsive to all devices.
  • Make navigation more convenient for users.
  • Feature social proof.
  • Showcase engaging CTAs to guide users to the next step.

Web design is the process of organizing content online through planning, conceptualization, and design. The entire appearance and feel of a website that you visit are created through web design. It is typically used to refer to the design process for a website’s front-end, which includes authoring markup. Website design is a crucial issue for organizations and businesses and should not be neglected. The website must be engaging and attractive in order to leave a better perception on a client. The quantity of conversions you get is significantly influenced by the responsiveness and appearance of your website. Modernizing your website page’s overall aesthetic has a positive impact on generating more traffic and sales. To accomplish that, larger businesses hire web designer. Can potential customers tell by visiting your website what your business does? If users needed to, could they find the blog with ease? Is your pricing design simple to comprehend? If not, the eight tips listed below will help you make your site designs more productive.

Delete cheesy graphics and vague language

Some aspects of your website will take away from the significance and message you’re trying to express. Examples include “stocky” website pictures, lengthy content, and complex animations. You must make it crystal clear to your user what they will learn on the page they are seeing because they have a very short attention span, and your design must not distract from this. Making ensuring you have reliable brand standards to work from is the first step in achieving this. Your font types, color schemes, graphics, icons, and logo usage should all be described in this. Brands might easily struggle while designing pages without it. It’s likely that you’ll start to see haphazard font choices and color schemes, which might detract from your message or confuse viewers who are attempting to convert.

Improve Page Speed

Maintaining consumers’ interest and engagement on your website depends on its page speed. As a result, in addition to taking steps to make your website flexible and mobile-friendly, you need to ensure that your page performance is acceptable in order to enhance your website design. No matter what kind of website you have, ensuring the page loads quickly is one of the best methods to keep visitors coming back. These days, people have little tolerance, therefore even a small delay in the loading of some business sites makes them leave. You are undoubtedly losing clients and prospects if your website load time is slow. Among the techniques for improving and speeding up your website are image optimization, plugin reduction, the use of a content delivery network, homepage optimization, and many others.

Social Sharing and Follow Buttons

These days, Facebook and Twitter have taken over the world. That is to say, social media helps individuals stay in touch with one another and the news. Any suggestions for website improvement should focus on utilizing social sharing and social following. Why?

These folks are incredibly engaged across all social media platforms. For instance, Facebook has more than 1 billion users. This is why it’s crucial for your website to use social media and provide social sharing options for users. When readers enjoy what they read, the goal is to encourage them to share your material. Without your involvement, sharing content makes it available to everyone.

Search Engine Optimization

One of the best ways to enhance website design is through SEO (Search Engine Optimization). It is crucial to have a solid SEO strategy in place even though this won’t visually affect the front end of your website. Your site will benefit from having effective SEO implemented in a variety of ways. The ability to trend for what you want, get correctly indexed in search engines, and rank higher in Google will be its most significant benefit. Look for pertinent keyword phrases, and then carefully work them into the text. To improve your Google ranks, take advantage of the header tags, page titles, and alt pages.

Utilize calls to action

Your website can be used to market your business, sell goods and services, or host a blog. Therefore, make sure your call to action is compelling and clear. Provide a channel for website visitors to contact your business. A free trial, the formation of an account, a link to make a purchase, or the request that they sign up for a newsletter are just a few examples of a call to action. Make sure to spend some time developing the ideal call to action because that is what will enhance your conversions. The phrases “click here for more information,” “see prices,” “click here to buy,” “watch the movie,” and many others are examples of call-to-actions. They can be shown as banners, buttons, pop-up boxes, or pretty much anything else that helps draw website visitors’ attention.

Use White Space

Make use of whitespace and use it in your layout. Negative space, often known as white space, describes the spaces around objects on a page that is empty and devoid of written or visual contents. White space is a crucial design component that aids in page breakup and improves readability. The lack of white space on a website causes elements, text, and graphics to overlap and crowd the main page’s area, making it look cluttered and unprofessional. If there isn’t white space on your website, look over the arrangement. Remove the design and text, and add some white space to better divide the information into sections. Additionally, this will improve the aesthetics for visitors to your website.

Advantageously utilize color

When you are designing or updating a website, take advantage of this. Utilizing color theory is a website design tip that can enhance your site’s appearance greatly. Because of the aesthetic effect it gives your website, it might grab users’ attention and keep them there.

Remove all extraneous material

Excessive content doesn’t always equal better. Sometimes, less really is more. This is especially true when discussing advice on website design. Your website should be neat, easy to use, professional, and direct. It all comes down to finding the right balance between communicating your needs and without coming off as obtrusive. You might need to take certain items off the website since they are superfluous. Eliminating it will significantly enhance a website design.

Conclusion

Practices for creating websites are always changing. Businesses should make an effort to follow emerging trends because the web development market is constantly evolving. The truth is that your website’s design has a big impact on how many visitors turn into paying customers and revenue. Web design can be improved in a variety of ways. However, the aforementioned strategies are some of the most productive for increasing website traffic and production. Additionally, you might think about seeking the assistance of certain web design services, including those offered by web.com, Bizzuka, lounge lizard, and many others.

Staying on-trend conveys to potential customers and collaborators that you are up-to-date on the latest innovations. Show that you’re always pushing boundaries and making advancements in your industry with your web design.

There are thousands of different possibilities where design is concerned, and it could take a while to sift through the options and land on ones that feel like a good fit for you and your company. Having inspiration helps! Let’s take a look at five of the top design trends making a splash this year as well as how they benefit your business.

Use of Memphis Design

What is Memphis design? It’s an iconic design trend that many describe as a bold mix of art deco and postmodernism to create a striking composition. Memphis design originally rose to the height of its popularity in the 1980s, but it’s currently coming back in a big way–including in web design. Eye-catching arrangements of bright colors and abstract shapes are a hallmark of this resurfacing trend.

How it can help:

Memphis design is unique, easily recognizable, and most importantly, memorable. Utilizing this type of theme in your web design can help you stand out in a bold way while still achieving a modern, on-trend look.

Typography as Hero Sections

Hero sections are large segments of your website that often take up the entire visible field of the page at one time. These sections give your clients a first impression and are great for displaying important information, showing off stellar visuals, or giving the viewer a call to action that’s too great to ignore. Incorporating typography in your hero sections can present your message in a way that’s visually appealing and compelling to your audience. This isn’t a new concept per se, but one that’s quickly becoming a top design element to look out for in cutting-edge web design.

How it can help:

Hero sections are about more than just catching the eye. Employing bold typography in your hero sections makes readers stop their scrolling, pay attention, and absorb your message, embodying form and function.

Visible Borders

Visible borders are making a comeback in 2022 after the minimalist wave of the 2010’s! This trend is another rehashing of a design element from years past, but it’s incorporated in a modern way that marries the best of both the past and the present. They add structure to the page and add to the sense of functionality without sacrificing the aesthetic of your brand. Incorporate visible borders around sections, headers, and images to make the most of this design trend.

How it can help:

Visible borders can lead the viewer’s eye across the page and entice them to explore your website, as well as give the page a more complete, organized feel. Customize the border to feel more authentic to your brand by choosing between a thicker or thinner line weight for your borders.

Website Interactions

Including interactives in your web design is a great way to make a lasting impression on first-time visitors to your site and keep them coming back time and time again. Creating more opportunities for your potential clients to interact with your website makes them feel more invested in your story and helps them buy into your ideas. Impactful interactions will leave them ready to learn more and open to take the next step in your client process.

Interactions can be included on a micro or macro scale, and mixing different size interactions throughout your site in a tasteful and manageable way can entertain your audience without taking away from your intended message and purpose.

How it can help:

Getting them involved creates the feeling of a cooperative relationship faster and they can imagine themselves as a client long before their first consultation call with you. Get them engaged and excited early to get them interested in your offerings.

Mouse Cursor and Scroll Effects

If you spent time back in the day searching for the latest effects to add to your MySpace page, you’ll be a big fan of this trend. Custom mouse cursors are coming back on the scene as a must-have for your website. Also gaining in popularity is scroll effects–examples include horizontal scrolling, zoom scrolling, and parallax scrolling. Whatever scroll effect you choose should be an asset to the story you’re trying to tell with your web design.

How it can help:

Adding unexpected features like a customized mouse cursor and interesting scroll effects further cement your brand strategy as a complete experience. Taking time to develop and pay attention to the smaller elements showcases your eye for detail, which further solidifies your stance as a precise, focused brand.

Incorporating any combination of these elements into your web design will draw your potential customers in Need help getting started? You can always turn to a web agency! Get help from the experts so you don’t have to do any of the guesswork to get an impactful result.

Streaming and web design are two different disciplines that people don’t necessarily identify together. Yet, undeniably, both are greatly intertwined.

A streaming platform, no matter how well designed, is nothing without actual streamers creating the content and attracting loyal viewers. While streamers, no matter how talented, can’t attract audiences without having a well designed platform to onboard them.

From the relationship between these two different but related fields above, it is clear to see that there are quite a few benefits that can be enjoyed when one is sound in both areas.

Now by this, we don’t mean that every streamer should be a great web designer. What we’re saying is that a little knowledge of web design goes a long way in helping streamers give better experiences for their viewers, while appearing a lot more unique and appealing in the process.

All of this tends lead to a highly successful streaming career, which, after all, is whatever streamer desires.

3 Key Web Design Tricks for Streamers

Luckily, for streamers to maximize the benefits web design has to offer, they don’t have to know every single thing about the field. A few tips and tricks here and there can go a long way in helping streamers achieve the ultimate objective – which is to stand out, be more attractive, and give their viewers a unique experience that they won’t be able to forget for a while.

Below are some of the simple but efficient web design tricks that every streamer should know. A bulk of it is for twitch streamers, but we give examples for other platforms too where they apply.

– Screen Customization

Screen customization is one of the most popular kinds of customizations for streamers. If you have ever come across a streamer with screen customizations, but you have no idea how they did it, you’re in the right place.

First of all, there are a few different kinds of “screen” customization. The first one is customizing the frame that appears around your screen while streaming, while the second is customizing the actual screen where your webcam live images are shown.

Customizing the latter is usually advantageous when you happen to not be streaming, for whatever reason.  You can set it so that, whenever you’re away, in place of your broadcast the screen is customized to display other options.

This helps keep your users’ attention, and holds it until you’re available again.
Other screen customizations for streamers include specifying the frame aspect ratio, and whether or not your broadcast is animated or static.

All of these can go a long way in helping you appear more appealing and even more professional to your audience, but of course you must be careful to not over do it.

Whether you’re customizing the screen, frame, or animation, the goal is to add enough to be unique but not too much to appear overzealous.

How to Customize Your Streaming Screen

First of all, to choose your webcam frames, you’ll have to create a source image or webcam graphics. Creating your webcam frame graphics should be super easy for those who are already familiar with basic graphics design.

Even for those who are not, getting ready-made templates and making necessary tweaks should be quite easy. Once this is done, all you have to do is find the section that says “source box” in settings, click the plus (+) sign, and add your new source image.

Again, this can be an animated display or static, it is all up to you. Static frames are better for regular streams, while animated frames may be more appropriate for highly energetic ones.

– Streaming Profile Customization

Lots of streaming platforms give streamers the ability to customize their profiles because they know just how important this simple process can be. They’re so important, in fact, that streamers who fail to take advantage are automatically putting themselves at a strong disadvantage.

Profile customization allows you to beautify your profile page by adding attractive design elements, breaking down key information into panels and elegant sections, and telling your visitors exactly what you have to offer – in a way that isn’t boring and bland.

On some platforms, streamers can also use the opportunity afforded by profile customization to upsell new products to their viewers. You can also use them to redirect new followers to your personal website, social media platforms, and pretty much anywhere on the internet that you want them to visit.

How to Customize Streaming Profile

Luckily customizing a streaming profile is quite easy. For streamers on Twitch, profiles are usually customized using panels.

Panels are quite straightforward in conception, but streamers have gotten really creative in making wonderful designs with them. To embed your panels, all you have to do is go to your “About” tab, click “Edit Panels”, and upload your panel file in PNG.

This step is pretty much universal for all streaming platforms. You design a handful of graphics design sections using visual elements, go to your About page, and upload your appropriate image. Some platforms like Chaturbate, the adult streaming website, only accepts HTML links to your design.
Luckily, there are helpful websites like Designurbate where you can easily get design template files, customize them to reflect your details, upload to generate your HTML link, and export to your profile in no time at all.

– Notifications & Overlay Customizations

Stream alerts are important visual elements during any streaming session. Alerts appear whenever users interact with your stream, or when you gain subscribers, followers, donations etc.

You can also make use of an event overlay, which is a board where certain information like your most loyal supporters are listed.

Some of the biggest streamers around make use of them, and the new ones are taking note too. In fact, if you’re a new streamer just starting out, an event overlay customization like this may be one of the things you need to stand out fast.

Apart from being visually unique and attractive, it also appeals to fans and audiences, because who wouldn’t like to see their name displayed in a stream. It shows them how much you appreciate their support, and incentivizes them to do even more down the line.

How to Customize Notifications & Overlays

To get started with alert customizations for Twitch, you will want to go with the One-Click Setup on StreamLabs or StreamElements. All you have to do is download appropriate design files for your new alert, select your streaming software, copy the browser source URL when you’re done, add a new source on your streaming software, and under the “browse source” option, paste your copied URL.

– Web Design Tricks for Streamers in a Nutshell

As we’ve seen above, you don’t necessarily have to be a web design guru to make necessary tweaks to your streaming appearances.

Even without any prior knowledge of web design, you can follow the steps we’ve highlighted above to beautify your in-stream notifications and overlays. What’s more you can also make your profile appear a lot more beautiful, and use it to pass across important information and upsell items to your followers.

Lastly, using the tip above, you can customize your screens, by not just adding frames around the edges of your broadcast display, but even customizing the screen itself to display other things when you’re away.

Putting all of these to use can be all you need to impress your existing viewers, make them more loyal, and gain tons of new ones in the process.

Including numerous media on the homepage makes it unappealing. Make the page simple to get the best outcome. It can focus on one particular thing while other items can go elsewhere. The homepage should act as an entry to your store, and customers can find their way to everything else through it. It will not achieve its objective to convert visitors if you make it a destination.

Optimize it for Mobile View
Factor the screen sizes of online users’ devices to reach out to a broad scope of audience. Statistics show that more people use portable gadgets like smartphones for internet activities. So, it is best to optimize your homepage by making it mobile-friendly. The ideal design should adjust automatically depending on the screen a person is using.

Showcase Your Value
Customers want to know your business value if they will trust you. It would help to include the information on your homepage. You can showcase your company value by using high-quality images to display your products, have informative messages about the items, and show how the items are valuable to the customer. However, ensure you do not include too much information. It can appear as clutter which discourages the visitor from engaging further with your website.

Include a Call To Action
Your website becomes ineffective if you do not have a call to action. The tag should be in a strategic place where website visitors can see and take action as requested. It would help to make it strike out from other information on your homepage.

The Don’t

Apart from making your homepage design appealing and effective, it would be best to avoid some common mistakes in website development. Below are some things you should not do;

Overdoing with the Style
Being creative helps with website design, but it is damaging when you overdo it. The move may make it challenging for some people to understand the content or message you want to put across. As stated before, keep the homepage simple.

Hiding Links
It would help to make it easy for website visitors to find links. Do not hide them by using similar colours to other text. Still, avoid underlining particular words as they can appear as links.

If 2021 has a trend in terms of web design, then it is the rise in popularity of single page applications (SPAs). The increase in the number of SPAs is not surprising since SPAs are used for the most popular, trendsetting websites that most of us use daily. For example, Facebook, Gmail, Twitter, and Google Maps are all SPAs. It is now relatively common for business websites to use the SPA framework, with companies such as Moneypenny and Globe utilizing SPAs with the Vue JavaScript framework.

Before you jump on the SPA bandwagon and create your next website, you may wish to learn from the experiences and mistakes of those that have taken the SPA-path before you. While SPAs have some excellent features, they also come with certain limitations, or at least complications.

Advantages of Single Page Applications

SPAs provide a very fluid and fast user experience. They create the impression of a multiple-page website, but they utilize a single HTML file. SPAs use JavaScript code to communicate with the browser, meaning requests are not constantly sent to and retrieved from the server. This client-side rendering creates a much faster website and a fluid user experience, much like a desktop application.

SPAs also don’t have a front and backend in development; it’s all one thing. SPAs can also be used offline, they are faster than traditional websites, and they are relatively easy to make and debug.
Another great thing about SPAs is that with a single design, they will look and work well on any operating system and any browser.

SEO Problems

One of the significant issues with current SPAs is that they are difficult to optimize for indexation and ranking on search engines. It is also unlikely that the average SEO Executive will adjust and optimize the code necessary to ensure that search engine bots can efficiently crawl and index a SPA website. Unless the executive is trained and well versed in the use of the specific JavaScript framework that the SPA uses.

The use of JavaScript alone can be problematic for search engine bots to crawl. From an SEO perspective, it is often discouraged, for example, for websites to use JavaScript in the navigation, as it is a lot of code for a bot to crawl, index, and render. The best practice for navigation is usually thought to be the use of HTML and CSS only.

This blog post from StackOverflow illustrates some of the JavaScript related issues that a developer had with his first SPA project:

“HTML is structured and easy for computers and bots to understand, but they don’t necessarily understand JavaScript. While there are plenty of articles that debate whether or not Google’s crawler executes JavaScript when crawling a website, my experience was that it did not”.

SPAs & Users with that Disable JavaScript

Another disadvantage of SPAs is that they do not work when a user has JavaScript disabled. According to this thread on StackOverflow, around 2% of people in the USA have JavaScript disabled on their main browsers.

Coding Expertise Required

Finally, creating a SPA that is secure and functions without errors requires a lot of expertise. A complex e-commerce website is relatively easy to create with a content management system such as WordPress or Shopify but incredibly difficult when using a SPA framework.

Single Page Applications & Social Sharing

When users share webpages across social media platforms, the website it is being shared onto will pull in a preview image and text-snippet from the open graph or Twitter card meta details within the HTML.

This meta markup is straightforward to produce when using a CMS or a standard HTML & CSS website. Not so easy with a SPA. Many people make the mistake of providing meta tags that are populated by JavaScript. This method will often result in the same preview showing for every page/view of the SPA website.

For example, a user might share a blog page that discusses the pros and cons of cryptocurrency to Facebook. If Facebook cannot access the open graph tags, the social share will show a preview for your homepage, which is entirely irrelevant and not likely to generate many clickthroughs. There is a solution to this issue, as outlined in this tutorial from tutplus.

Caching

Allowing caching of your website can also be more complicated with a SPA.
For caching to function as expected, you will need to look at a “caching busting” solution. Alternatively, you can use the if-modified-since + last-modified or if-none-match + ETag headers along with the proper cache-control header.

If the files are static, it is usually suggested that a developer uses the if-modified since because this will implement itself automatically as long as the HTTP server is configured correctly.
It is also possible to use Cloudflare. Be aware, however, that Cloudflare doesn’t execute any JavaScript before caching a response. More information on this on the Cloudflare website.

Single Page Applications Views & States

In a standard multiple-page website (MPW), a user will navigate the website by clicking navigation buttons/links and loading new pages. In a SPA, the user will click the navigation button and load a different view or state of the same HTML page.

With a SPA, the application shell never reloads. So, for example, if your SPA website has the same header, footer, and sidebar throughout the website, this will only load once. The user will repopulate the main content or any different content by clicking a navigation button while the template remains the same.
This is possible thanks to AJAX.

Campaign Tracking & Single Page Applications

Page tracking can be problematic with SPAs. This is because, technically speaking, the browser only loads a single page. When a user navigates to different pages on the website, with standard tracking implemented, it will report that only the initial page has loaded.

Google Analytics 4 has some built-in features under “Enhanced measurement,” designed to track page views in SPAs. If this feature is enabled and the tickbox next to “Page changes based on browser history events” is checked, it should track whenever the URL changes – even if a page doesn’t load or reload.

However, some other features of “Enhanced measurement” won’t work correctly with SPAs, so disabled “site search” and “scrolls” to avoid misleading reports.

If for any reason this method does not work, you can use the “History Change Trigger” in Google Tag Manager. Disable the enhanced measurement pageview option, then go to Google Tag Manager à Triggers à New
From the menu of built-in triggers, select “history change,” name it, and hit save.
Refresh and preview. Now each time that you click on a new page/view, a history event should fire.

Conclusion

To create a SPA website, you will need to get to grips with a Javascript framework such as Vue, React, or Angular. It is possible to use vanilla JavaScript, but it is much more time-consuming.
Ajax with XML is used to retrieve information and ‘load’ different website pages in the background.
The main issue with SPA websites appears to relate to SEO and tracking. Ensure that all APIs are supported and use the history API and proper link markup to ensure that search engine bots can crawl individual URLs. You can begin testing your SPA website by using the Google Mobile-Friendly Test.

While a website’s appearance is considered important in the business world, it’s often regarded as subordinate to the site’s bare-bones structure. With the taels pages and check out the key to generating profits online, business leaders all too often focus their energies on removing the friction from the purchasing journey, without considering the design aesthetics that might be deriving consumers away before they ever fill a basket or click through to checkout. In this short guide, we share four essential tips to guide your aesthetic web development.

Brand and Visual Conformity

Your brand is the beating heart of your business. Likely one of your entire enterprise’s first design features, you designed your brand to embody much of what your business stands for. Then, it’s from this brand that your business’ website should draw much of its inspiration.

From the colors that you use to the shapes and symbols that you employ across your website, be sure to keep conformity in mind when you’re adding visual features to your online platform. If your site’s visual side revolves around your brand, you’ll maintain comforting visual conformity that web users interpret as professional and modern. If you are still not sure about getting this done by yourself alone you can consult a pro like Sunshine Coast Web Designer.

Animated Features

At the intersection of advanced design and technical back-end code are the animated features that are becoming a mainstay of websites worldwide. When you visit a well-made website and scroll down their homepage, you’ll notice that pictures fade in or text enters from the left or the right, which is both engaging and impressive.

An increasing number of websites have cottoned on to the fact that consumers interpret these micro-animations as a sign of a professional and trustworthy company. And they’re not difficult for a web design agency to input into your pages, either – just give them the instruction, and it’ll take them an afternoon to add smart animations across your webpages.

Professional Photos

If you’re selling products on your website, the importance of professional, high-quality photographs simply cannot be overstated. That’s because a less-than-stellar photograph suggests a less-than-stellar product.

Use a studio and a professional photographer to help each of your products pop when presented online. This is how you’ll generate increased sales from your product pages in the coming months.

Multimedia Features

Text and photographs are no longer enough in helping you impress upon your customers the trustworthiness and professionalism of your brand. Multimedia content – like an introductory video, hyperlinked text, or gifs embedded on your website – will show that your firm and your website are up-to-date with current online trends.

Meanwhile, including your Twitter or Facebook feeds as a sidebar on your website adds a further layer to your multimedia offerings. In the last couple of days, or even hours, the dates on your posts will help show that business continues as usual at your company, giving consumers the confidence to trade with you in these unpredictable times.

There you have it: four foundational visual adjustments to make to your website, generating better impressions from web users across the internet.

The task of a designer is to set a trend and not to follow a trend. Sometimes, it is not a bad idea to follow the ongoing trends and achieve the best out of it. There were some website designing ideas that gained popularity in the later part of 2021 and some of them will even rule in 2022. Today, we will discuss some of the latest trends of WordPress Web Design.

At first, colours are the most important elements of a website. It creates and shapes the mood of a visitor. A website can seem dull and boring without a proper colour combination. The combination of using black-and-white is getting popular nowadays with white as the clearest of all colours and black is assertive and strong. While designing a website, you have to be careful if your base colour is black-and-white. If you add an accent colour with this combination, you will end up breaking up the sea of monochrome.

Minimalism has become one of the biggest trends recently with its aesthetic and simple style. Minimalism is considered one of the most classic and timeless web design trends according to various surveys. The fewer the elements on a website, the less the audience has to overthink. All the options are easy to find if a website is designed in a minimalist approach. Minimalist design will continue to dominate the designing sector for a long time for sure. That is why I picked this as the second item of my list.

To me, the third most important trend in website design is the shape and the layout. There was a time when website designers focused only on systematic grids whereas nowadays, the website designers are focusing on natural shapes and smooth lines. The latest trending designs are concerned with the feeling of accessibility and comfort. However, the usual geometric structures like triangles, square and rectangles represent only a sense of stability in website design. My suggestion is to give focus on the organic shapes. Usually, organic shapes are not that perfect and so do our lives. The task of a website designer is to design a website like a home.

For the fourth trend you should consider adding; Chatbots. They have been around for quite a long time now, but 2020 is the year when it will be at its peak. This is because of the advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the machine learning sector. Nowadays, the chatbots are efficient and intelligent. You will see chatbots are showing up more and more with a higher level of customization than we have experienced in the past.

Then, I would like to add micro-interaction in the fifth position. The sole purpose of micro-interaction is to surprise the visitors and create an event that is inviting and human. It seems a little bit complicated, so let me clarify it – Every time you make a small action on any website, there is a specific response to it, and that is micro-interaction. As an example, whenever you refresh a Twitter page, you hear a audible confirmation and this is a perfect example of micro-interaction. Every day we visit websites full of micro-interactions and most of the time we are not aware of its appearance. However, this is a practical way to involve your visitors in your website.

Last but not least, this is the best time for making and promoting video content. According to many agencies, video content is the ultimate key and creating and adding a video to your website will not only diversify the website, but also provide an overall outlook of your contents. It is a friendly option for those who do not have enough time to scan through a lot of text. Even Google gives priorities to video contents over traditional websites. You see, Google shows video contents above standard web pages. Thus, you see the importance of video production and its addition to a website.

In short, these are the website designing trends that will lead throughout the year in my opinion. There will be some surprises like always and there is scope for you to add your own ingenuity to this list of trends as well.

Virtual and augmented reality is not yet common, but some of the industry’s best practices can be used now. Let’s consider how they affect the design and usability, and what you can use in the design of your site now.

The differences between the two technologies

Virtual Reality (VR) simulates a separate world. Interaction requires special devices that transmit human movements and affect the senses, most commonly a helmet or glasses.

Most VR content in the gaming industry, but for a wide range of applications devices lack the power, content is difficult to adapt, and because of the quality of video after immersion in the “virtual world” dizzy.

It’s easier to work with Augmented reality (AR). This is a real-world, augmented by virtual elements that “expand” or “enrich” it.

According to Forbes, almost 75% of the world’s brands use VR applications in their industry to improve their service level.

Augmented reality is already helping to visualize how Ikea furniture will look in your interior, using only a smartphone app, and it also provides opportunities:

– to see a hotel room before you book;
– try on your clothes, using your avatar on shopping sites;
– take a test drive in a car;
– use a map;
– to learn more about the brand;
– play a game related to the brand.

According to a study conducted by Sketchfab, one of the largest platforms publishing 3D content, the majority of community members (49.1%) believe that games will remain the main area of VR application. Education comes second and medicine comes third.

Another study by Statista shows that both virtual and augmented reality markets will grow to $29.5 million in 2020, up from $7.1 million in 2017.

It is difficult to make a prediction about the non-game industry, but experts say that there is huge interest in this technology from business and society. Be the first to make an order at web site design company in Cairo, Egypt.

Technical giants including Facebook and Microsoft are investing millions of dollars in this area, which gradually turns VR web design from a science fiction dream into reality.

VR technology in advertising

Companies from different segments already use VR in advertising. Volvo tries to convey the feeling of driving with the app, while Oreo shows the world of chocolate in its 360 videos.

Beyond games, augmented reality becomes a bridge between offline and online sales.

At Zara stores in Spain, for example, a customer can scan the item they are going to try on and, if necessary, immediately ask a consultant to bring in a different size or color.

VR technology in web design

Attempts to create a ” three-dimensional” user experience began in 1962 with work on a Zooming User Interface. The workspace contained the main elements, and additional elements appeared as the content approached and increased. Zooming User Interface was supposed to increase the level of engagement and visually enrich as well as simplify the user experience. These ideas contradicted each other, and the technology did not take root.

While we’re not yet wearing VR glasses every day, the technology has already affected the online user experience. First of all, it is the appearance of 3D maps and 360 content – the ability to see the product from different angles, “walk” on Google Earth or the hotel where you want to book a room.

Despite the high accuracy of the imitation of the surrounding reality, virtual reality technology is still in the stage of skeuomorphism, interfaces imitate the outside world. New technologies are aimed at a wide range of users, it is necessary to get used to it.

Augmented Reality has already passed the first stage, and it can be used in advertising campaigns to give the user a better idea of the product and increase the level of involvement.

In the next stage, the emulation of the real world is no longer needed, all information noise disappears and there is a trend towards minimalism, clean interfaces.

The transition to this stage requires mass access to devices and sufficient content, but existing developments can already be applied to the design of your site.
